Hanner Call

Hanner Call

Taking it’s title from the Welsh expression for “half mad”, ‘Hanner Call’ was a week long improvisation presented through the Lle Celf (Arts pavilion) at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Caerdydd a’r cylch.

Inspired by attitudes towards those on mobile phones who seem to be talking to themselves (half a call) the intention was a liminal performance experimenting with accepted behaviours in public places and the proposition that as long as you talk into a mobile phone people are likely to presume you are more actively engaged with the person on the other end of the call than you are in your actual physical locality.

Filmed and edited by Pete Telfer for Culture Colony, from long range to disassociate any of our actions from something that might be done for filming purposes.
