UNREALITY TV ist eine Online-Plattform für Performance-Videos.
Was sind Performance-Videos? Die Videos, die wir auf UNREALITY TV präsentieren, bewegen sich zwischen zwei Feldern oder Kontexten: Performance (und das steht hier für ein weites Spektrum an künstlerischen Positionen und Praktiken: Performance-Kunst, Live Art, Tanz, freies Theater etc.) und Video (und: Kino, Film, Fernsehen, Video-Streaming etc.). Es sind Arbeiten, in denen die Spannungen zwischen Realität und Fiktion, zwischen Liveness und Aufzeichnung, zwischen Einmaligkeit und Wiederholbarkeit, auf eine interessante Weise verhandelt werden. Auf UNREALITY TV finden sich Videoarbeiten von Künstler*innen, die primär im Kontext von Performance und Live Art operieren. Videos, die eine bestimmte Affinität zu Performancepraktiken aufweisen oder deren sensibilities teilen. Resultate partizipativer Prozesse. Videos über Performance. Videos, die als Nebenprodukte oder Elemente künstlerischer Prozesse oder Präsentationen entstanden sind, aber dennoch für sich stehen können. Videos, die künstlerische Prozesse oder Interventionen vor Ort oder im öffentlichen Raum aufarbeiten für ein zerstreutes Publikum anderswo. Videos, die Betrachter*innen an Bildschirmen zumindest mitdenken.
UNREALITY TV ist nicht als Ersatz für den Besuch einer Performance konzipiert, sondern als Alternative zu YouTube oder Netflix. Ziel von UNREALITY TV ist es, Performance-Videos dauerhaft und kostenfrei zugänglich zu machen.

UNREALITY TV is an online platform for performance videos.
What are performance videos? The works that we present on UNREALITY TV are situated between two contexts: performance (which here stands for a wide range of artistic positions and practices: performance art, live art, dance, independent theatre, etc.) and video (and: cinema, film, television, video streaming, etc.). They negotiate the dynamics between reality and fiction, between liveness and record, between singularity and repetition. UNREALITY TV presents video works by artists who primarily operate in a performance or live art context. Videos that exhibit an affinity towards performance practices or a performance sensibility. Results of participatory processes. Videos about performance. Videos that were developed as by-products or elements of artistic processes or presentations but can nevertheless stand on their own. Videos that rearticulate artistic processes or interventions on site or in public space for a dispersed audience elsewhere. Videos that are at least in part addressed at viewers in front of screens.
UNREALITY TV is not intended as a substitute for live performance, but as an alternative to YouTube or Netflix. UNREALITY TV aims to make performance videos accessible permanently and for free.
