Rosie Gibbens is an artist who works primarily in performance, video and sculpture. She uses absurdity in an attempt to unravel learnt behaviors, particularly from her position as a woman and consumer. She often approaches her work as nonsensical adverts or product demonstrations, where the term ‘sex sells’ is interpreted overly literally.
Rosie received an MA from the Royal College of Art in Contemporary Art Practice: Performance and a BA in Performance Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins. Her recent solo show 'Soft Girls' was presented at the Zabludowicz Collection as part of their 'Invites' programme (2021). Selected group exhibitions include: The Artist is Online, König Gallery, Berlin (2021); Balls, Oof Gallery, London (2021); Ridiculous, Elephant West, London (2020); Antisocial Isolation, Saatchi Gallery, London (2020); Salon Acme, Mexico City (2020).
